The Butler women's soccer team is preparing to host Connecticut as the Huskies travel to Indianapolis for the first time ever. The Bulldogs are coming off a, 1-1, double-overtime draw with St. John's, while Connecticut most recently defeated Seton Hall, 2-1.

In the Bulldogs' tie with St. John's, Katie Soderstrom's goal was her ninth of the season and 25th of her career. Alli Leonard now leads the Bulldogs in assists, as she notched her sixth of the season. Leonard led the Bulldogs in shots (3) and shots on goal (2). Freshman Emma Martin (9-0-1) made four saves in goal to preserve the draw.

  • Abigail Isger is fourth nationally with four game-winning goals and leads the BIG EAST.
  • Katie Soderstrom is second in the BIG EAST and 8th nationally with nine goals. Soderstrom is also second in the BIG EAST and 11th nationally with 22 points. Isger (with 15) is fifth in the BIG EAST.
  • Alli Leonard, with six assists, is second in the BIG EAST and 18th nationally. Isger (with five) is third in the BIG EAST and 43rd nationally.
  • Emma Martin's four shutouts and .672 GAA both rank fifth in the BIG EAST. She is 37th nationally and shutouts and 43rd in GAA.
     
  • At 2-0-1, Butler now sits in a three-way tie with St. John's and No. 23 Georgetown at the top of the BIG EAST standings.
  • Aliya Diagne and Emma Martin received recognition from the BIG EAST for their performances in wins over Marquette and Seton Hall last week. Diagne was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, and Martin was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.
  • Diagne was also named to the Top Drawer Team of the Week as she scored the game-winner in the 90th minute against Marquette.
  • The Bulldogs have scored 25 goals in 11 matches this season (2.27 goals/match) while giving up 11 goals (1.00 goal allowed/match).
