Several Bulldogs had the ability to compete Friday, while a majority of the Bulldogs roster continued to prepare for next week's BIG EAST Cross Country Championships.

Butler hosted the Stan Lyons Bulldog Invitational Friday in Carmel, Ind., welcoming a small field just a week ahead of the conference championships.

On the women's side, Bulldogs accounted for the first eight positions. Freshman
Elsa Rusthoven, running unattached, claimed the individual title in a time of 17:58.5.

Ashlyn Minton (18:07.0),
Margo Hornocker (18:18.3),
Camille Hines (18:28.6), and
Abby Olson (18:30.2) took the next four spots for the Bulldogs.
Morgan Walsh was Butler's final scorer in a time of 18:50.0, which was seventh overall and fifth among attached runners.

Ashley Learn (18:39.6) and
Lexi Affolter (18:59.8) were sixth and eighth, respectively, both running unattached.

On the men's side,
Sean Robertson was the first Bulldog across the line, taking third in a time of 25:40.7. Teammate
Conor Naughton was just behind him in a time of 25:55.1, which was good for fourth.

Purdue's Alex Frey won the event in 25:25.6.

Butler's line-up also included
Carter Schorr (26:12.4; sixth),
Andrew Taylor (26:48.2; tenth), and
Nick Robie (27:10.1; 12
th).

The Stan Lyons Bulldog Invitational is named after the Butler hall of fame coach who led Butler's cross country and track programs for 30 years before retiring in 1995.

Up next for the Bulldogs is hosting the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships Friday on the same Northview Church Course.
