Butler midfielder Katie Soderstrom has been selected as the BIG EAST Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance's this week against St. John's and Connecticut.

Soderstrom totaled four points in a 1-0-1 week for the Bulldogs. The redshirt-junior scored the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute at St. John's on Thursday to secure the 1-1 draw. She followed that with two assists in a 3-0 win over UConn on Sunday, providing the helper on Becky Dean's 27th-minute game winner before adding another dish on Julia Leonard's 75th-minute insurance score. Soderstrom has 24 points on the year to rank ninth nationally.

For Soderstrom, the weekly honor is her second of the season and the fifth of her Butler career.

Freshman Emma Martin earned a spot on the five-member BIG EAST weekly honor roll after helping to lead the Bulldogs defense that notched a shutout. She surrendered just one goal in 200 minutes, making six saves (.857) and producing a 0.45 GAA.

The Bulldogs return to action Thursday, traveling to No. 23 Georgetown.
