The Butler women's soccer team will travel to Washington, D.C., to battle BIG EAST preseason favorite Georgetown on Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 win over Connecticut, while Georgetown most recently tied Providence, 1-1, after two overtimes.

In the win over Connecticut, Becky Dean's game-winning goal was her first goal of the season. Abigail Isger, who had gone three matches without a goal, scored her sixth of the season. Julia Leonard notched her second goal of the season and has scored in two of the past three matches. Katie Soderstrom's two assists, both coming off corner kicks, pushed her to six for the season. Alli Leonard continues to lead Butler in assists, as she tallied her seventh of the season. Freshman Emma Martin (10-0-1) made two saves and was credited with her fifth shutout of the season.

  • Abigail Isger is sixth nationally with four game-winning goals and leads the BIG EAST.
  • Katie Soderstrom is second in the BIG EAST and 11th nationally with nine goals. Soderstrom is also second in the BIG EAST and ninth nationally with 24 points. Isger (with 17) is fourth in the BIG EAST.
  • Alli Leonard, with seven assists, is second in the BIG EAST and 12th nationally. Soderstrom (with six) is third in the conference and 27th nationally, while Isger (with five) is fourth in the BIG EAST.

  • Katie Soderstrom and Emma Martin received recognition from the BIG EAST for their performances against St. John's and Connecticut last week. Soderstrom was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, and Martin was named to the five-member BIG EAST honor roll.
  • The Bulldogs have scored 28 goals in 12 matches this season (2.33 goals/match) while giving up 11 goals (0.92 goals allowed/match).
