Palmer Ault, a striker/midfielder from Noblesville, Indiana, has signed his national letter of intent join the Bulldogs beginning with the fall 2022 season. Coach Paul Snape made the announcement Sunday, November 12.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have signed Palmer for our 2022 recruiting class," expressed Snape. "He is, without doubt, one of the most talented attacking players in the Great Lakes Region. He is blessed with skill, athleticism, and the ability to score and create goals. He is a relentless worker who is dedicated to improving his craft on a daily basis."

A four-year varsity starter at Noblesville High School, Ault appeared in 73 matches during his high school career. He racked up 173 points on 67 goals and 39 assists, shooting .453 on 148 total shots, and leading his team to a 2021-22 IHSAA Class 3A state championship. The three-time All-State First Team selection was chosen as the 2021 Indiana Soccer Coaches Association State Player of the Year – Mr. Soccer 2021 – and was twice voted to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Team.

"I always went to youth camps and Butler games as a kid," reflected Ault. "The culture and atmosphere are something that I always strived to be a part of. Great academics and coaching staff are other reasons why I chose Butler."

In addition to his interscholastic accolades, Ault's club-playing experience includes the Indiana Fire MLSNext U19's, the Indy 11 USL-Academy, and Indy Premier.

"Palmer certainly possesses the essential characteristics of being a successful student-athlete: intelligence, humility, passion, discipline, sacrifice, and integrity," added Snape. "I have no doubt that Palmer will help our program win many games and titles during his tenure at Butler University!"
