The Bulldogs dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Western Michigan Wednesday afternoon in a match played indoors at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.

The result puts Butler at 0-2 on the young season, while the match served as the season opener for the Broncos.

Western Michigan got two first-half goals from Mike Melaragni in the 17^th and 36^th minutes, respectively.

The Bulldogs held a 10-7 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. Nine Bulldogs tallied one shot, while redshirt freshman DJ Hooks had two.

Keeper Gabriel Gjergji made two saves for the Bulldogs.

Isaac Walker recorded the shutout for WMU.

Butler is next scheduled to play Sunday, hosting Saint Louis.
