The Bulldogs dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Western Michigan Wednesday afternoon in a match played indoors at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.
The result puts Butler at 0-2 on the young season, while the match served as the season opener for the Broncos.
Western Michigan got two first-half goals from Mike Melaragni in the 17
th and 36
th minutes, respectively.
The Bulldogs held a 10-7 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. Nine Bulldogs tallied one shot, while redshirt freshman
DJ Hooks had two.
