INDIANAPOLIS – Butler will play volleyball at Saint Louis on Tuesday. Opening serve will take place at 5 PM. The Bulldogs have won two-straight and are 1-1 in road matches this spring.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
The Billikens are 0-3 at the start of the 2021 spring season. They opened the year with a 3-0 setback at No. 24 Western Kentucky then took a tough 3-2 loss later that day to Evansville. Saint Louis most recently played an A-10 match at VCU and lost 3-1. Tuesday's contest at Chaifetz Pavilion will serve as the home opener for the Billikens. Head Coach Kent Miller has three student-athletes on the roster with more than 30 kills to their credit over 12 sets. Maya Taylor leads the team in kills with 36. Kennedy Cordia will set up the action. She averages 9.4 assists per set. Defensively, Carlie Rodgers is the team leader with 57 digs (4.75 per set) and Sara Daniels patrols the net with a team-best 11 blocks.

Butler leads the all-time series over Saint Louis 15-6. Their last win over the Billikens came in 2012 when each program played in the Atlantic 10. BU won 3-0 at home that season, but lost 3-1 at Saint Louis.

'Dawgs Win with Defense
Butler opponents are hitting just .136 this season. Four different Bulldogs have recorded 10 blocks or more over the opening 18 sets and libero Jaymeson Kinley has been fantastic averaging 5.0 digs per set. The BU school record for a full season is 5.29 digs per set.
 
Going the Distance
Three of Butler's four matches this season have gone a full five-sets. In each win this year, BU has lost the first set, but has fought back to win the second.

BU will host Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 20 to wrap up their non-conference slate. That match will begin at 2 PM inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. Nationally-ranked BIG EAST opponents will also visit Indianapolis in March. #25 Marquette and #19 Creighton will each play two matches vs. BU. The Golden Eagles head to Hinkle on March 5. The Bluejays will visit March 12.
