INDIANAPOLIS – Butler returns to Bulldog Park this weekend to host Purdue Fort Wayne in a three-game series. Start times are lined up for 3 PM on Friday 2 PM for Saturday, and Sunday's tilt will move up one hour to 1 PM.

@ButlerAthletics Announces 25 Percent Fan Capacity for Baseball Games
The fan capacity applies to competitions on the Butler campus for the following sports this spring: football (Sellick Bowl), men's and women's soccer (Sellick Bowl or Varsity Field), women's lacrosse (Varsity Field), baseball (Bulldog Park), softball (Butler Softball Field), and volleyball (Hinkle Fieldhouse). For competitions hosted by Butler but not on the Butler campus, fan capacity and procedures are determined by the host venue. As part of the health and safety protocols being put in place, tailgating on the Butler campus will not be permitted this spring.
Scouting Purdue Fort Wayne
The Mastodons are 2-6 overall with a 1-3 record in the Horizon League. They won their season opener at Murray State 10-6 and also picked up a 1-0 win vs. Youngstown State when they played the Penguins at Defiance High School.
On the mound, Justin Miller is 1-1 on the mound with 11 strikeouts in 9.1 innings of work. He holds a 3.86 ERA allowing five runs off five hits. Cameron Boyd is 0-2 on the young season with a 5.73 ERA. He is the strikeout leader on the club with 15. Jacob Myer has the best numbers of any weekend starter. He's 1-0 this season with a 1.23 ERA. In 14.2 innings, Myer has 12 strikeouts and just three walks.
At the plate, Justin Green, Aaron Chapman and Jack Lang are the biggest bats in the lineup. Greene is batting .346 over the first eight games of the 2021 campaign. Aaron Chapman is also over .300 with a team-best 10 hits in 33 at-bats. Lang is a .286 hitter with three runs scored and three stolen bases.
Opening Day
Butler opened the 2021 season with a 16-4 victory over visiting DePauw on Tuesday afternoon.
Freddie Matos hit a three-run home run in his first Butler at-bat and the Bulldogs would pour on 13 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Head Coach

Best of the Best
It's not much of a sample size, but after one game, the Bulldogs lead the NCAA with a .433 team batting average. The are also ranked first in on-base percentage (.595), second in scoring (16) and second in slugging percentage (.667).
