The Butler women's lacrosse team fell 17-5 to #22 Denver in the second game of the BIG EAST weekend series. Butler moves to 0-3 and starts out 0-2 in conference play.
How It Happened:
Similar to Friday's match-up, Denver jumped to an early lead, hitting the first score of the game.
KK Callaghan struck first for the Bulldogs, things up at 1-1 within the first five minutes of play.
Denver went on a five-goal scoring run, but Butler answered with a run of their own with back-to-back goals of their own from
Lindsey Schreiber and
Kayla Kielbasa, putting the score at 6-3 in favor of Denver.
The Pioneers closed out the half with four goals to Butler's one, a free position from
Campbell Connors.
The second period was all Denver, pouring on seven goals after the half. Schreiber added her second goal of the day to lead the Bulldogs in scoring.
