The Butler women's soccer team fell to DePaul, 1-0, in Chicago on Sunday, March 21. The loss was the first of the season for Butler, who entered the contest at 7-0. The Bulldogs move to 4-1 in conference play while DePaul moves to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the BIG EAST.
How It Happened:
Coming off a bye-week, the Blue Demons made disrupted Butler's flow early on, keeping the Bulldogs from getting in a rhythm. In the 24
th minute, DePaul's Mikaela Hoard scored the ultimate game-winner
DePaul held Butler to just four looks in 90 minutes.
Katie Soderstrom led the team with two shots.
Four yellow cards were handed out in the match, two for each team.
The Bulldogs and Blue Demons split the conference series, 1-1. Butler will face Marquette, Xavier, and Creighton a second time to close out the regular season.
