FULL 2021 TRACK AND FIELD SCHEDULE
The Butler track and field has released the 2021 outdoor schedule, as announced by head coach,
Matt Roe on Tuesday, March 23. The BIG EAST did not sponsor an indoor championship for 2020-21, instead opting to move cross country in the spring.
The Bulldogs will open the outdoor portion of the schedule the Raleigh Relays, the famed annual competition hosted by North Carolina State. The three-day meet spans from Thursday, March 25- Saturday, March 27.
The following weekend, Butler will spend the beginning of the holiday weekend in Bloomington-Normal, Ill for Illinois State's Redbird Invitational, Friday April 2 and Saturday April 3.
The Bulldogs will take a weekend off before splitting up to attended two separate meets on April 16 and 17. The Butler distance squad will head to Eastern Kentucky, while field events, sprints and mid-distance student-athletes will attend the Black and Gold Invitational at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn.
Butler will come back as a full team for the Clark Wood Open hosted by Louisville, April 23-24.
The Bulldogs will attend back-to-back meets over the last weekend of April, starting at the Illinois State Invite, April 29-30, before heading to the Virginia Grand Prix, hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
The team will close out the regular season with a short road trip to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Pacesetter Invitational at Indiana State.
For the post-season, the BIG EAST has announced it will host the Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, May 10-11.
The NCAA East Regional is scheduled for May 27-29 at North Florida. The DI Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will be held at the pinnacle of track and field in Eugene, Oregon by the University of Oregon from June 9-12.
