LEXINGTON – Kentucky scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to come back and defeat Butler by the final score of 6-5. Kessler doubled to left centerfield to deliver the walk-off hit for the Wildcats.

The Bulldog faithful got excited in the seventh when
Brody McGrath tied the game at 2-2 with a home run to left field. After a pitching change,
Freddie Matos would give BU a 3-2 lead with a double down the right field line to score
Zach Orn. Steinhart followed in the order with a single to right to score
James Gargano and the 'Dawgs would be up 4-2.
Another ball left the diamond in the eighth as
Robbie McCargar unloaded on a 0-2 pitch to clear the wall in left. The 'Dawgs were in the driver's seat heading into the bottom of the ninth with 5-2 advantage, but they couldn't seal the deal.
Anu doubled to left to open up the ninth and the next batter would reach after being hit on a full count. The bases would soon be loaded up as Collett drew a walk. Harmon singled to centerfield to collect two RBI and make the game 5-4. The 'Dawgs made a pitching change, but the next batter would double to left center to score two and win the game 6-5.
Cole Daniels picked up the win while
Jack Pilcher was charged with the loss. McGrath and Steinhart each had two hits for BU. All five RBI's in the contest for the visiting team came from a different player.
Jon Vore got the start for BU and struck out five over 3.2 innings.
Cory Bosecker was solid in long relief with four K's in 3.1 innings of action.
The 'Dawgs will return to action this weekend with a three-game home series vs. Valpo. Game one is set for Friday at 4 PM.
