Marquette out-shot the Bulldogs, 15-6, including seven shots on goal.

Hemi Nasser led Butler with four shots.

Butler's Gabriel Gjergji made six saves in the contest, allowing only the penalty kick after 93 minutes of scoreless work.

Marquette's Chandler Hallwood made three saves in posting the shutout.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday with a match in Cincinnati against BIG EAST rival Xavier. The teams played to a 0-0 (2OT) draw March 13 in Indianapolis.
