The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season with a 12-9 victory over Denison on Wednesday at Varsity Field.
Butler handed the Big Red its first loss of the season (6-1) while the Bulldogs shift to 1-7 heading into another BIG EAST weekend.
How It Happened:
Denison went up 2-1 early in the first period before Butler went on a 3-0 run with goals from
Kayla Kielbasa,
Campbell Connors and
Lindsey Schreiber.
The Big Red answered with three more goals to go up 5-4. A second goal from Connors and another tally from
Leah Rubino gave Butler a 6-5 edge at halftime.
Butler opened scoring in the second half to put a two-goal gap between the teams. Denison would go on to bring the game within one score before five-goal run by the Bulldogs put things out of reach.
The Big Red took advantage of man-up opportunities due to late penalties on the Bulldogs and closed the game with three final goals.
A total of nine yellow cards were handed out, five to Butler and four to Denison.

- Campbell Connors, Leah Rubino and Karina Latkso each scored twice in the win
- Latsko also had two assists, the only assists of the game for Butler
- Nine different Bulldogs recorded a goal
- Liz Davide led the midfield presence with five ground balls and three caused turnovers
- All three of Butler's goalies saw time between the pipes with Katie McGrath getting the win and seven saves
- Seven of the nine game penalties were handed out in the second half
