@ButlerWLacrosse Picks Up 12-9 Win Over Denison

The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season with a 12-9 victory over Denison on Wednesday at Varsity Field.

Butler handed the Big Red its first loss of the season (6-1) while the Bulldogs shift to 1-7 heading into another BIG EAST weekend.

How It Happened:
Denison went up 2-1 early in the first period before Butler went on a 3-0 run with goals from Kayla Kielbasa, Campbell Connors and Lindsey Schreiber.

The Big Red answered with three more goals to go up 5-4. A second goal from Connors and another tally from Leah Rubino gave Butler a 6-5 edge at halftime.

Butler opened scoring in the second half to put a two-goal gap between the teams. Denison would go on to bring the game within one score before five-goal run by the Bulldogs put things out of reach.

The Big Red took advantage of man-up opportunities due to late penalties on the Bulldogs and closed the game with three final goals.

A total of nine yellow cards were handed out, five to Butler and four to Denison.
