The Bulldogs dropped a 19-6 decision at Georgetown Friday afternoon in a BIG EAST contest. The teams will play again in the nation's capital Sunday.
The host Hoyas got out to a 6-0 lead and had a 9-1 advantage after the first 30 minutes. That's when Butler's offense began to gain momentum, but it was a little too late.
Butler's
Lindsey Schreiber scored a pair of goals for the Bulldogs, giving her nine on the season. Butler also received tallies from
Kayla Kielbasa,
Leah Rubino,
Ashley Guerra, and
Emily Doell.
Ella Bolin and Kielbasa were each credited with an assist.
Jordyn Sabourin and Natalia Lynch each registered three goals for the Hoyas, who had five players score multiple goals in the contest.
The Hoyas had a 40-16 edge in shots and won 21 of the 27 draw controls.
Georgetown improves to 5-7 overall and 4-3 in BIG EAST play. Butler falls to 1-8 in advance of Sunday's rematch between the two games.
