A close first half was not enough for the Bulldogs to stop Georgetown's roll on Sunday, April 18 in Washington, D.C. The Hoyas came away with the 18-7 win, sweeping the weekend series.
Butler drops to 1-9 and 0-8 against league teams. Georgetown jumps to 6-7 overall, 5-3 in the BIG EAST and will have a chance to qualify for the conference tournament.
How It Happened:
A low scoring first half kept things between the Bulldogs and Hoyas close for the first 30 minutes of play.

Kayla Kielbasa and
KK Callaghan each scored (twice for Kielbasa) in the first period to make the score 5-5 at the half.
Amanda Rumsey had seven saves to limit the Hoyas offense that scored nine goals in the first half on Friday.
Callaghan opened the second period scoring with her second tally of the game for a 6-5 lead. However, Georgetown went on to score 13 unanswered goals to put the game out of reach for Butler.
Lindsey Schreiber tabbed the last goal of the game for a final score of 18-7.
Bulldog Notable Stats
- Kielbasa and Callaghan had two goal apiece in the loss
- Callaghan and Schreiber lead the team with 10 goals each; Callaghan has 12 points on the season
- Leah Rubino and Schreiber both had an assist for Butler

A Look Ahead
Butler will return home to close out the regular season at Varsity Field, hosting the Marquette Golden Eagles for a weekend series. Game one is set for Friday at 3 p.m. and will be streamed to the Butler Athletics YouTube Channel.
Butler will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday, April 25 prior to the 12 p.m. game time. The Bulldogs will honor fifteen seniors as part of the class of 2021.
