CINCINNATI – Xavier hit three home runs on Friday afternoon to post a 9-2 win over the visiting Butler Bulldogs. The two teams will return to the diamond tomorrow for a 12 PM doubleheader.
How it Happened
Xavier scored two runs in the bottom of the second and four more in the third to take control of the action. Stephenson and Walker each hit RBI singles to open up the scoring on Friday and it was Stephenson again in the third to impact the outcome of this BIG EAST contest.
Stephenson hit a three-run home run to left in the third to make the game 5-0. Xavier would own a 6-0 lead heading into the fifth, before the Bulldog bats could get going.

Matt McElwain to make the game 6-1. The 'Dawgs wouldn't get any closer as Franzoni and Stephenson would each homer to left for Xavier down the stretch. The final home run of the contest belonged to Butler and
James Gargano would also send a ball over the wall in left to take the teams to the final score of 9-2.
