The Butler women's tennis team fell to the DePaul Blue Demons, 2-4 on Thursday in Chicago, Ill. Delaney Schurhamer and Sara Linn earned points for the Bulldogs in singles play.

DePaul picked up the doubles point after winning both the No. 1 and No. 3 pair match-ups. The No. 2 pair of Schurhamer and Linn were tied at 5-5 when the Blue Demons clinched the first point of the match.

Butler challenged the defending BIG EAST champions in singles, as both Schurhamer and Linn picked up individual wins.

DePaul went up 3-0 in the match, winning both the No. 2 and No. 6 singles in straight sets. Linn kept the Bulldogs alive with a 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 4 flight.

The Blue Demons grabbed two more singles wins to clinch the win. In the No. 3 flight, Schurhamer went to a 10-point tie break, winning 10-6 to pick up Butler's final point of the day.

The Bulldogs will continue conference play on Saturday, April 10, hosting Xavier at approximately 2 p.m. at the Butler Tennis Courts. The match will start following the Butler men's tennis match, also against the visiting Musketeers.
