Box Score The Butler women's lacrosse team dropped game one of the weekend to the Villanova Wildcats, 20-8, on Friday afternoon in Villanova, Pa. Butler falls to 0-6, 0-5 on the year while Villanova moves to 4-7, 2-3.

How it Happened:
Greer Bireley scored the first goal for the Bulldogs to lead the game 1-0. However, Villanova returned with eight unanswered goals. Liz Davide,
KK Callaghan, and Bireley scored three goals near the end of the half to make the score 9-4 at the break.

In the second period, the Wildcats got struck first, followed by an answer from Callaghan taking advantage of a Villanova defensive turnover. With 23 minutes remaining in the second half,
Katie McGrath made a stunning save for the Bulldogs, but was unable to stop the Wildcats offense.
Ella Squibb and Bireley each scored again for Butler, followed by another Villanova run of four back-to-back goals.
Gabryelle Bodine scored the last goal for Butler, making the final score 20-8.
