INDIANAPOLIS – Butler and Georgetown will end the 2021 regular season with a four-game series at Smith Stadium. The games shifted to College Park, Maryland due to Montgomery County's guidelines surrounding COVID-19.

Butler's series at Georgetown has been moved to Shipley Field at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium on the campus of the University of Maryland. The field was moved to its current location in 1952. It has seating capacity for 2,500 fans and has a FieldTurf playing surface.

Scouting Georgetown
The Hoyas lost to George Washington on Tuesday night by the final score of 15-4. There were 29 total walks in their last non-conference game of the 2021 season. The setback moved their overall record to 5-22.
In BIG EAST play, Georgetown is 5-16 this year with a recent 5-1 victory over Xavier. Eddie McCabe, AJ Lotsis and Andrew Ciufo are some of the top players in the lineup. McCabe leads Georgetown with a .229 batting average. He has 19 hits, including two doubles and a homer. Lotsis is holding onto a .202 BA and is the team leader in runs scored with eight. Ciufo has some speed with four stolen bases this season. He is also the team leader in RBI's with 12.
The top two pitchers on the staff are Carter Bosch and Nolan McCarthy. Bosch is 1-2 on the hill with a 3.33 ERA. He has 35 strikeouts over 27 innings pitched and has only allowed five extra base hits. Opponents are hitting just .148 against right-hander in 2021. McCarthy has one more strikeout than Bosch to lead the team with 36. He is 0-3 this year with a 3.48 ERA. Over 33.2 innings of work, McCarthy has only walked eight batters.
All-Time Series
The Bulldogs and Hoyas have each recorded nine wins in this series dating back to the 2014 season when Butler joined the BIG EAST. Neither team has put together a clean sweep either. BU won two games in 2018, 2017, and 2016. Georgetown won the weekend series 2-1 in 2019, 2015 and 2014. At Georgetown, Butler is 4-5 with their last win coming 3-2 a year ago in the opener.
