INDIANAPOLIS – The Creighton Bluejays won two games over the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. Game one was electric with four home runs, 23 hits and 21 total runs combined in just seven innings. Creighton would hold off a late Butler surge to win 11-10. Game two featured the Bluejays scoring four of their eight runs in the fourth to post an 8-2 victory at Bulldog Park.
 
The opener was exciting from beginning to end as Creighton led off the first inning with a solo home run from Upton to take the 1-0 lead. Butler pushed three across in the bottom of the second thanks to a two-RBI single from 
James Gargano and a bases loaded hit by pitch with 
Dan Harwood at the dish.
 
The Bluejays countered with four runs in the third, one in the fifth and five in the sixth to move the score to 11-3. Butler jumped right back into the action in the bottom of the sixth. Gargano got hit with the bases loaded to score the first run and 
Aaron Steinhart would single to center later to score 
Jacob Margroff. The biggest swing of the day came from Harwood as his grand slam would move the game to 11-9.
 
BU didn't allow a run in the seventh and 
Robbie McCargar would lead off with a homer for the home team in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to just one. Sakowski settled down and got three-straight outs after to earn his fourth save of the season.
 
Dylan Tebrake remained perfect on the mound for Creighton (7-0) by picking up the win. He struck out eight, walked three and allowed four runs off five hits.
 
Butler used four pitchers in the first game with 
Nick Eaton getting the start. The lefty struck out five, walked three and allowed five runs off six hits. 
Alex Voss, 
Lukas Galdoni and 
Greg Gilbert also touched the rubber for BU.
 
The ball was jumping out of the park for Creighton again in game two. The Bluejays scored three runs over the first two innings, added one in the third and erupted for four in the fourth. BU found the scoreboard in the second with an RBI triple from 
Brody McGrath that scored 
Freddie Matos. The 'Dawgs couldn't keep up in the middle stages of the second game of the doubleheader with Creighton hitting three home runs to expand their lead to 8-1. Roden hit two of the three round trippers to move CU on top. The final home run of the day belonged to 
James Gargano. He went deep to left taking us to the final score of 8-2.
 
Jonah Smith was good on the hill to grab his sixth win of the season. 
Jack Myers was hit with the loss (3-4).
 
Butler and Creighton will play two games tomorrow at Bulldog Park. Rain in the forecast has slightly adjusted the schedule. Game one is now slated to start at 11 AM.
