The Butler women's soccer team seeks its first win of the season as it hosts its second-consecutive Big Ten opponent on Thursday, August 26, at the Sellick Bowl. The Northwestern Wildcats (0-1) will be in town and will provide another strong challenge for the Bulldogs who are coming off an 0-5 season-opening loss to the Michigan Wolverines. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The Wildcats finished the 2020-21 spring season with a record of 6-6-1 facing off against only Big Ten competition. With the top 12 players in minutes played from last season returning for this fall, the 'Cats boast an experienced roster. The 'Cats roster eight players who have appeared in an NCAA Tournament match, including five seniors and two graduate students. Regan Steigleder (4g, 1a), Mackenzie Wood, and Josie Aulicino (1g, 3a) were named to the 2021 Big Ten Players to Watch List. Steigleder, a graduate student midfieder, is one of the most experienced players in her conference, having logged over 6,148 career minutes. Senior goalkeeper Wood has started all 50 games possible in her career, and has established a career-goals-against average of 1.00. Midfielder Aulicino started every match as a freshman in the spring 2021 season. All four members of last season's back line return. The combination posted six shutouts in 13 games and a goals-against average of 0.900.
