INDIANAPOLIS –
The Butler women's volleyball team returns to Hinkle Fieldhouse after two weekends of play on the road for its first midweek match of the season on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky.

The Bulldogs (5-4) are coming off back-to-back match wins over Nevada and Cal in the Cal Tournament to finish the weekend with a 2-1 record. Melody Davidson and Jaymeson Kinley were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts, while Davidson also earned recognition on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after an 11-kill, eight-block outing against Nevada and a 16-kill, five-block performance against the host Cal. Kinley contributed 50 digs, four assists and one ace throughout the weekend.

Eastern Kentucky (2-7) is coming off a four-set win over Western Carolina in the Colonel Challenge hosted in Richmond, Ky., last weekend. The Colonels are led by Molly Michalak (115 kills) and Taylor Grinley (255 assists) on the offensive end so far this season, while Sydney Schoen leads the team with 156 digs on the defensive end.

Butler leads the all-time series with Eastern Kentucky 3-0 including sweeping the Colonels in their last meeting on Sept. 7, 2013.

The Bulldogs will return to Hinkle later in the week to host the Bulldog Brawl, their second tournament hosted this season following the Top Dawg Challenge which opened the season. Butler will face off with Milwaukee and UCLA on Friday before taking on Western Michigan on Saturday.
