INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler football coaching staff on the defensive side of the football is now complete with the hire of
Adam Siwicki. Head Coach
Mike Uremovich will add Siwicki to the locker room as the team's defensive line coach. Siwicki joins defensive coordinator and linebackers coach
Jeff Knowles, cornerbacks coach
Joe Cheshire and safeties coach
Jacob White to round out the defensive staff.
Siwicki spent the previous five seasons at Culver-Stockton, a NAIA program located in Canton, Missouri. Upon arrival in 2017, Siwicki joined the program as the team's defensive coordinator. He was promoted to associate head coach in 2019 while still overseeing the Wildcat defense and working as the linebackers coach.
In 2019, the Wildcats ranked fifth in passing defense and ninth in total defense among all NAIA teams. In addition, Siwicki orchestrated a defense that finished 11th in the NAIA in total sacks (34) and 18th in scoring defense (19.1 ppg).
Before working at Culver-Stockton, Siwicki spent two seasons at Northern Illinois as a defensive graduate assistant working with defensive linemen. He also worked at the University of Saint Francis for two years. While at USF, Siwicki served as the defensive coordinator in 2014 after coaching safeties in 2013. Saint Francis finished seventh in the NAIA in total yardage allowed when Siwicki took over as DC. His first coaching job after graduation came at Montana Tech in 2012.
Siwicki earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Aurora University in 2012 and a master's degree in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois in 2016. He was a Second Team All-Northern Athletics Conference selection as a linebacker at Aurora and earned the Richard Rickey Award that recognizes the male senior athlete who best demonstrates leadership on and off the field as well as athletic performance.
