The Butler women's soccer team will play the first of a pair of matches on the road on Sunday, Oct. 16, at UConn. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The Bulldogs (6-7-1, 3-3-0 BIG EAST) are coming off a 1-3 loss to St. John's, while the Huskies (7-5-1, 3-3-0 BIG EAST) most recently beat DePaul, 3-1. The two sides are currently tied for the fifth position in the conference standings.

  • Katie Soderstrom sits atop the BIG EAST with 3.64 shots per game (33rd nationally), 3 game-winning goals (37th), 1.64 shots on goal per game (54th), 16 total points, and 6 goals. Her 4 assists rank third in the conference.
  • Talia Sommer is fourth in the BIG EAST with a shot accuracy of .522.
  • Abigail Isger's 11 points and 2.33 shots per game rank fourth in the BIG EAST, and her 4 goals rank fifth.
  • Anna Pierce is fourth in the BIG EAST with 40 saves.
     
  • Abigail Isger was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10 for her performances in wins over Villanova and DePaul that included a game-winning goal and an assist on another game-winning goal. Her goal came in the 67th minute of the Bulldogs' match against DePaul, giving Butler the 2-1 victory on the road. The redshirt junior assisted on Caitlin O'Malley's game-winning goal in the 86th minute in Butler's home win against Villanova. Isger led the league in shots last week (9) along with finishing tied for second in points (3).
  • Caitlin O'Malley was listed on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring the game-winning goal in Butler's 1-0 win over Villanova (Thursday, 10/6).
