The Butler women's soccer team hosts BIG EAST leader and No. 16 Georgetown on Sunday for its final home match of the regular season. The Bulldogs (7-7-2, 4-3-1 BIG EAST) are coming off a 2-2 draw with Seton Hall, while the Hoyas most recently defeated Marquette, 1-0.

Georgetown has clinched the regular-season crown for the BIG EAST. Butler currently sits in fifth, just one point behind St. John's and Creighton, and three points ahead of UConn and Marquette. Six teams will qualify for the postseason tournament. The Bulldogs will travel to Creighton for their final match of the regular season.

  • Katie Soderstrom sits atop the BIG EAST with 3.81 shots per game (25th nationally), 1.75 shots on goal per game (41st), 3 game-winning goals (44th), 17 total points, 6 goals, and 5 assists.

  • Talia Sommer was selected as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week (10/17) after notching two assists in two matches. Her first one was a pass to Arianna Jalics in the 22nd minute against St. John's, which led to the Bulldogs' only goal of the match. Then, in Butler's 2-0 win at UConn, the midfielder gave Abigail Isger an opportunity to score in the 12th minute to give the Bulldogs a lead that they would keep until the final whistle. Sommer was tied for first in the league last week in assists.

  • Claire Farrington's goal was her second of the season and the third of her career.
  • Abigail Isger's goal was her sixth of the season and the 15th of her career.
  • Katie Soderstrom's assist was her fifth of the season and the 29th of her career.
