Bulldog Bits
- The Bulldogs have won three-straight games for the first time since the 2017 season.
- Butler leads the FCS in red zone offense (96%). They have scored on 24 of their 25 attempts.

Luka Zurak is one of just three FCS kickers that have not missed a field goal this season (7-for-7). He hit 35-yard field goal last Saturday vs. MSU.

Bret Bushka leads the PFL and ranks 18th in the FCS in completion percentage (66.7).
- Butler ranks second in the PFL and 15th in the FCS in 3rd down conversion percentage (47%).
- BU leads the PFL in 4th down conversion percentage, net punting, punt return defense, completion percentage, sacks allowed, and tackles for loss allowed.

Joey Suchy was responsible for three touchdowns in the win over Marist. He set new a season-high total with 16 carries and turned that into a career-high 84 rushing yards.

Kwesi Kyei-Fordjour scored his first rushing touchdown of his BU career vs. the Eagles.

Connor Reid came up with his first interception of the 2022 season last weekend. He now has five interceptions in his BU career.
- The Bulldogs have recorded an interception in three-straight games and have a sack in four-straight contests.

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE: The Eagles are 2-5 this season with a 1-3 record against PFL opponents. They head to Indianapolis having lost two-straight and are 0-4 on the road this year. The last two losses for the Eagles were close setbacks to Valparaiso and Davidson. Valpo outscored MSU 12-7 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 40-35 win and Davidson would hold off a late Eagle charge to claim a 28-26 victory. The Eagles rank fifth in the FCS in red zone defense, seventh in both turnovers gained and defensive touchdowns and 28th in sacks. Their quarterback is Grady Cramer, a redshirt-sophomore who has tossed two touchdowns in each of his last three starts. Cramer threw for 326 yards his last time out vs. Valpo and was in the box score with 275 passing yards vs. Davidson. Sophomore Chance Harris will take a bulk of the carries for the Eagles and Christian Graves is a player to watch on the outside.

Morehead State leads the nation in blocked punts (6), and fumbles recovered (10). They have blocked a kick in five-straight games.

LAST MEETING: Morehead State led Butler 10-0 at the half and would move forward with 21 second half points to secure a 31-8 victory. The Bulldogs only completed three passes against the Eagles last year and were limited to 148 rushing yards.
Joey Suchy found the end zone for BU in the fourth quarter while
AJ Deinhart led the team in both rushing attempts (13) and yards (64).

Butler's defense had four interceptions in the first half at Jayne Stadium. Connor Reid was responsible for two of the four.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Morehead State leads the all-time series over Butler 18-8. The last BU win over MSU came in the 2018 PFL home opener 24-21.

The first game between Butler and Morehead State was played back in 1963. The programs would begin to play on a year-by-year basis starting in 1998.

BUSHKA ADDED TO WATCH LIST: Bret Bushka has been added to the 2022 Walter Payton Award watch list, which Stats Perform presents to the national offensive player of the year in college football's Division I subdivision.

First awarded in 1987, the Walter Payton honor has gone to past recipients such as Steve McNair, Tony Romo, Brian Westbrook, Jimmy Garoppolo, Cooper Kupp and Trey Lance.

SELLICK BOWL SUCCESS: The Bulldogs are 4-0 at home this season and are averaging 34 points per game as the home team. The last time BU went undefeated at home was in 2015 (5-0, averaged 33 ppg).

The Bulldogs have scored 31 points in three of their four home games this season. BU posted a season-high 45 points in their Week 2 win over Taylor.

BUSHKA BREAKDOWN: For the second straight week, BU QB
Bret Bushka ended the first quarter with just three passing yards. He completed 10 of his 12 attempts in the second quarter, hit on a big gain of 55 yards in the third quarter and added a passing TD in the fourth.

Bushka leads the PFL with 12 passing touchdowns this season. He has thrown six touchdowns over his last three starts with zero interceptions.

GROUND GAME: Butler topped 200 rushing yards last Saturday for just the second time this season. It also marked the fourth time this season that BU ran the ball 40+ times (47).

BU limited Marist to just 69 rushing yards last weekend. It was the first time this season for the Bulldogs to keep a team under 100 yards on the ground.

HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS: Butler has outscored their opponent 130-72 in the second half this season.

The Bulldogs have scored 75 points in the fourth quarter this season. They seem to get better offensively as the game moves along (17 points 1st Quarter, 34 points 2nd Quarter, 55 points 3rd Quarter).

BAFIA AS A BULLDOG: Nick Bafia recorded a career-high eight tackles last weekend against Morehead State. He has led BU in tackles in back-to-back weeks after making six stops at Valpo. Bafia has made three or more tackles in every game this season.

Trey Mason also played well for BU vs. Morehead State. The corner came up with a season-high four tackles last Saturday.

UP NEXT: Butler will play at San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kick-off is slated for 4 PM.

The Bulldogs have not defeated San Diego since 2009 (25-24). Their last win in California against the Toreros came back in 2001.
