OMAHA – The Xavier Musketeers eliminated the Butler Bulldogs from the 2022 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship Tournament on Wednesday evening 3-1 (16-25, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25). Butler ends the 2022 season at 16-15 overall.
 
Top performances for the Bulldogs came from Mariah Grunze, Cora Taylor and the 2022 BIG EAST Libero of the Year Jaymeson Kinley. Grunze led the team with 17 kills while hitting at a .220 clip. Taylor had a double-double with 39 assists and 10 digs. Kinley was in the box score with 22 digs, moving her season total to 618 a new program record!
 
Megan Sheridan capped off her great BU career with 13 kills while adding a dig and three blocks. Amina Shackelford was also heavily involved in the action with 12 kills and three blocks.
 
Xavier was led to victory by Brooklyn Cink, and her match-high 23 kills. Carrigan O'Reiliy set up the action with 43 assists and chipped in with 12 digs. The match dig leader was Lucia Corsaro with 25.
 
Xavier will return to action on Friday to take on tournament host Creighton in the semifinals.
