Butler pitcher Karli Ricketts has been selected as the BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performances at the Spring Games near Orlando, Florida.

Ricketts did not surrender a run in 13 innings of work this past weekend. The senior scattered just six hits across her two starts, both of which resulted in Butler victories. Ricketts shut down Hofstra over six innings on Friday, allowing just four hits while striking out 10. The following day against Monmouth, Ricketts went the distance, allowing just two hits and striking out six.
 
Now with a career total of 355 strikeouts, the Indianapolis native has moved into seventh on Butler's all-time list for career strikeouts, and her shutout victory against Monmouth gives her a career total of seven, good enough for a tie for fifth on the all-time list for career shutouts.
 
For Ricketts, the weekly honor is her third as pitcher. She received recognition two times during the 2021 season.
The Bulldogs return to action this weekend, traveling to Chattanooga, Tenn., to compete in the Frost Classic.
