INDIANAPOLIS- The Gerogetown Hoyas led Butler the whole game to post a 69-48 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon in the regular-season finale. The Bulldogs will now shift their focus to the 2022 BIG EAST Tournament set for next weekend.
How It Happened
Georgetown went on 10-3 run to open up the game and shot 47% from the field in the first half. Kelsey Ransom was pivotal in the Hoyas first-half efforts scoring nine. She shot 4-7 from the field and 1-2 from behind the arc in the first.
Trinity White was a bright spot for the Bulldog offense. White shot 4-6 in the first half with 10 points and was the only Dawg in double digits heading into the half.
Tenley Dowell added six as well for the Dawgs in the first half. Butler trailed 34-24, heading into the intermission.
To start the third quarter, the Hoyas went on a 10-0 run behind 48%, shooting early on in the second half. Ransom scored four of the Hoyas 10 points during their run. Brianna Scott matched her first-half total of four points early on in the third quarter. She was shooting 80% through three quarters.
The Bulldogs had a sluggish day on the offensive end.
Trinity White,
Emilia Sexton, and
Celena Taborn were providing a lot of the offense for the Bulldogs. The trio combined for 31 points on the day.

The Bulldogs will travel to Uncasville, Connecticut, to play in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament. The Dawgs will open the tournament on Friday, March 4.
