The Butler softball team is set to host a three-game series featuring the top two teams in the BIG EAST standings when UConn (18-12, 8-1 BIG EAST) comes to town this weekend. Games are scheduled for Friday at 3 pm, Saturday at 1 pm, and Sunday at 11 am.
The Bulldogs are currently 18-10 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Most recently, Butler lost a midweek contest with Dayton, 6-0.

- Karli Ricketts leads the BIG EAST (63rd nationally) in hits allowed/7 innings (4.66) and ERA (2.28). She comes in at number two (81st) in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.28) and number four in walks allowed/7 innings (1.71). Ricketts ranks fifth in the conference with 77 strikeouts.
- Lauren Fey ranks first in the BIG EAST (26th nationally) as toughest to strikeout, averaging 27.0 at bats per strikeout. She is third in on base percentage (.474) and is fourth in stolen bases/game (.41).
- Bri Avery leads the BIG EAST (82nd nationally) in batting average (.412) and comes in at number three in stolen bases (12) as well as stolen bases/game (.44).
- Monique Hoosen leads the BIG EAST in home runs (7) and is third in slugging percentage (0.719). She is also third (91st nationally) with two sacrifice flies.
- Ellie Boyer leads the BIG EAST and is 70th nationally with 0.19 sacrifice bunts per game.
- Ella White's two triples put her third in the BIG EAST with 0.07/game, and she is also third (91st nationally) with two sacrifice flies. Her eight doubles put her in fifth with 0.30/game.
- Alyssa Graves ranks second in the BIG EAST with 5.55 hits allowed/inning. She ranks third (72nd nationally) with 8.8 strikeouts per seven innings and third (91st) with 81 strikeouts.
- With 44 stolen bases in her career, Lauren Fey has moved into the sixth position on Butler's all-time list, and with 32, Bri Avery has moved into the eighth position.
- Last Sunday's win brought Coach Scott Hall (in his 12th season) to an overall record of 264-286-1, making him the all-time winningest coach in the history of the Butler softball program. Hall surpasses Barb Greenburg, who coached from 1981 through 1994. She was the program's first coach and attained a career record of 263-226-4.
- Butler has started conference play in 2022 by winning each of its first three series (Villanova, 2-0, DePaul, 2-1, Seton Hall, 2-1). Since joining the BIG EAST in 2014, the Bulldogs' previous best start was 2016 when the team won its first two series and split the third.
