Ninth-seeded Butler will open the 2022 BIG EAST Men's Basketball Tournament presented by Jeep with a first round match-up against Xavier.

The full tournament bracket was finalized Saturday evening.

Butler and Xavier, which is the No. 8 seed, will play Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The winner of that contest will advance to play top-seeded Providence in Thursday's quarterfinals.
 
The Tournament returns to Madison Square Garden for the 40th consecutive year. The action begins Wednesday, March 9 and runs through Saturday, March 12. 

FOX Sports, the conference's television partner, will continue its wall-to-wall coverage with FS1 televising all nine games in the first three days of the Tournament before the FOX broadcast network carries the championship game on Saturday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. ET.  The BIG EAST Tournament at The World's Most Famous Arena is college basketball's longest running conference tournament held at the same venue.
 
The FS1 tourney coverage will begin with a first-round tripleheader on Wednesday, March 9.  Quarterfinal doubleheaders will be played Thursday afternoon and evening, March 10.  The semifinal doubleheader will be held Friday, March 11, followed by the title game on Saturday evening, March 12.
