Connor Turnbull - Recruiting Visit 2021

Connor Turnbull Re-Commits to Join @ButlerMBB Program

| By:

Prep standout Connor Turnbull has re-confirmed his commitment to Butler. Turnbull, who originally signed with the Bulldogs in November, will arrive at Butler and suit up for the Bulldogs beginning with the 2022-23 season.

The 6-10 Turnbull of Fort Zumwalt North High School earned Class 6 All-State honors from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association in each of the last two seasons.

"Our staff prioritized Connor in our first few weeks on the job at Butler," said head coach Thad Matta, who returned to Butler as head coach earlier this month. "Connor's game will certainly develop in the coming years, but he has a diverse set of offensive skills for his size and is a solid rim protector at this stage in his career. Connor's commitment to Butler has been strong throughout this time of transition and I am confident that he can be impactful as a Bulldog in the coming seasons."

As a senior, Turnbull averaged 23.5 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. He shot 60 percent from the field, including 39 percent from behind the arc (30-of-78) and 81 percent from the free throw line. He was also named to the All-St. Louis Metro team by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. As a junior, Turnbull averaged 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game, leading the team to a 27-4 record and the Class 6 state semifinals.

During his complete prep career, Turnbull led Fort Zumwalt North to a record of 60-24, one appearance in the state semifinals, two district titles and one conference championship. Eclipsing 1,000 career points, he holds school records for career rebounds, single-season rebounds, career blocks, and single-season blocks. Turnbull also owns the school record for points in a game with 42.

The ESPN four-star recruit helped Brad Beal Elite to a runner-up finish at the 2021 Peach Jam as part of the Nike EYBL circuit.
