The Butler softball team will be in Queens, N.Y. this weekend for its fifth BIG EAST series of the season. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play St. John's on Friday at 1 pm, Saturday at 12 pm, and Sunday at 11 am.

The Bulldogs (19-13, 7-4 BIG EAST) currently sit in third in the conference standings behind UConn and Providence. Butler most recently won one game in a three-game clash with UConn, and then lost a midweek, non-conference game with Indiana State.

  • Karli Ricketts leads the BIG EAST (44th nationally) in hits allowed/7 innings (4.46) and is second in ERA (2.31). She also comes in at number two (63rd) in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.89) as well as walks allowed/7 innings (1.57). Ricketts ranks third in the conference (95th) with 93 strikeouts.
  • Lauren Fey ranks first in the BIG EAST (29th nationally) as toughest to strikeout, averaging 22.5 at bats per strikeout. She is also tied for the lead in the conference with a .378 batting average. Her eleven stolen bases put her seventh in stolen bases/game (.37).
  • Bri Avery is tied for the lead in the BIG EAST with a .378 batting average and is fourth with 13 stolen bases (87th) as well as stolen bases/game (.42).
  • Monique Hoosen leads the BIG EAST in home runs (8) and is fourth in slugging percentage (0.682). She is also fourth with two sacrifice flies.
  • Ellie Boyer leads the BIG EAST and is 80th nationally with 0.17 sacrifice bunts per game.
  • Ella White's three sacrifice flies lead the BIG EAST and put her 29th nationally. Her nine doubles put her in fourth in the conference with 0.30/game.
  • Alyssa Graves ranks second in the BIG EAST with 5.63 hits allowed/inning. She ranks third (74th nationally) with 8.7 strikeouts per seven innings and fourth with 87 strikeouts.
     
  • With her 28th career win last weekend, Karli Ricketts has moved into a tie for ninth on Butler's all-time list.
  • With 497.2 career innings pitched, Alyssa Graves has now moved into the sixth position on Butler's all-time list.
  • Monique Hoosen's home run last weekend was her eighth of the season, tying her for seventh on Butler's all-time list. She is tied with Karli Ricketts in that position, along with four former Bulldogs.
  • Paige Dorsett's home run on Wednesday was the first of her career.
  • Kinley Longest's home run on Wednesday was her second of the season and of her career.
