BIG EAST Championship Central

The Butler softball team will be competing in its second consecutive BIG EAST Tournament, and its fourth since 2016, when it heads to Rosemont, Ill., from Thursday, May 12, through Saturday, May 14. The No. 2 seed Bulldogs (31-15, 16-6 BIG EAST) will open play on Thursday at 3 pm ET (2 pm CT) against No. 3 seed Villanova (29-22, 16-7). Also qualifying for the tournament are No. 1 seed UConn and No. 4 seed DePaul.

  • Alyssa Graves leads the BIG EAST (69th nationally) with a 1.91 ERA. She is second (42nd) in hits allowed per 7 innings (4.60) and is also second (72nd) in strikeouts per seven innings (8.4). Her 131 strikeouts land sixth in the conference.
  • Karli Ricketts leads the BIG EAST (34th nationally) in hits allowed/7 innings (4.42) and is second with a 2.21 ERA. She is also second (47th) in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.00) and comes in third (91st) in walks allowed/7 innings (1.60). Her 145 strikeouts rank third (89th) in the conference and she landed fourth (92nd) in strikeouts/7 innings (8.0).
  • Lauren Fey ranks first in the BIG EAST (32nd nationally) as toughest to strikeout, averaging 19.6 at bats per strikeout, and she is third in batting average (.380). Her on-base percentage (.549) ranks fifth, and her 18 stolen bases put her in the seventh spot in stolen bases/game (0.40).
  • Ella White's four sacrifice flies lead the BIG EAST and put her 35th nationally. Her three triples put her at third in triples per game.
  • Ellie Boyer leads the BIG EAST and is 72nd nationally with 0.16 sacrifice bunts per game, and she is eighth in stolen bases per game (.36).
  • Monique Hoosen is fourth in the BIG EAST with 10 home runs and fifth in slugging percentage (0.644).
  • Bri Avery ranks fifth in the BIG EAST and 80th nationally with 20 stolen bases. She is also fifth (82nd) in stolen bases per game (.43).
  • Teagan O'Rilley ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in walks per game (.57).
     
  • The 2022 Butler softball team now ranks on several all-time lists for Butler, including: 1st in conference wins (16), 3rd in wins (31), 4th in drawn walks (146), T4th in team shutouts (9), 5th in (pitching) strikeouts (324), 6th in home runs (27), and 6th in stolen bases (64).
  • Monique Hoosen's home run last weekend was her 10th of the season and puts her in the fourth slot on Butler's single-season list.
  • Alyssa Graves and Karli Ricketts each picked up their 14th win of the season last weekend, tying them for fourth on Butler's single-season list.
