Butler will host Kansas State as part of this season's BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle. The teams will meet at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The game time and television assignment will be announced at a later date.Â
The match-up will feature new coaches for both programs. Thad Matta returned to Butler as head coach in April, while Jerome Tang enters his first season leading the Kansas State program.
The Bulldogs and Kansas State have met once previously, a 63-56 Butler win in the Elite Eight of the 2010 NCAA Tournament. The win in Salt Lake City earned Butler its first Final Four berth.
The two teams were scheduled to meet as part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle in 2020, but that match-up was canceled due to COVID issues within the program at that point in the season. Â
Butler is 1-1 in BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle contests, winning in overtime, 66-62, at Oklahoma in 2021 and suffering a 53-52 loss at Baylor in 2019. Kansas State's Tang was an assistant at Baylor for that 2019 game.

Simas Lukosius from last season's roster. Matta has supplemented that young, talented group of Bulldogs this offseason with the addition of standout transfers Manny Bates (North Carolina State), Eric Hunter, Jr. (Purdue), Jalen Thomas (Georgia State), and Ali Ali (Akron).
Season tickets are on sale now to cheer on the Butler men's basketball team at Hinkle Fieldhouse during the 2022-2023 campaign. The Bulldogs' home schedule features 18 contests, including all 10 BIG EAST opponents.
