INDIANAPOLIS – The Xavier Musketeers recorded an 11-2 victory over Butler on Sunday afternoon to improve their overall record to 25-23. Butler got two RBI's from senior
Kollyn All, but Xavier would plate 11 runs on 18 hits to find the win column.
Xavier scored runs in six of the nine innings to come out on top. Shortstop Jack Housinger led the team with three RBI, going 2-for-5 from the plate with a home run. Luke Franzoni also hit a home run, his 20th of the 2022 season.
Butler scored in the bottom of the fifth on a
Kollyn All solo home run. All came back with an RBI single to left in the sixth inning to give BU another run.
Jared Gadd threw five innings for Xavier and was credited with his fifth win of the season. The loss went to
Cory Bosecker.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday, May 10 with a game at Purdue. First pitch between BU and the Boilers is set for 6 PM.
