IRVING, Texas (June 9, 2022) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that
Carl Allegretti, the president of Arbor Investments, will be inducted into the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame June 27 in Chicago, becoming the 13
th passionate advocate of the NFF and its mission to earn the honor.
"Carl's remarkable leadership skills and ability to inspire others represent the same set of traits learned on the football field, and we are extremely proud to add his name to the esteemed list of inductees in the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame," said NFF Chairman
Archie Manning. "Having achieved the pinnacle of success, Carl understands the imperatives of protecting the game for future generations, and we are grateful for his continued leadership on the NFF Board."
Rising from humble roots in Gary, Indiana, Allegretti got his start as a student-athlete on the football field at Butler University. He eventually rose to become a leader of one of our nation's top companies, holding numerous titles at Deloitte as Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Tax, Managing Partner of Deloitte's Chicago office, the head of the firm's Global Private Practice and Vice Chairman of the Deloitte U.S. Board of Directors. He currently serves as President of Arbor Investments, a $3.2 billion private equity firm in the food & beverage industry.
"The NFF Leadership Hall of Fame was created nearly a decade ago, and it has become a powerful vehicle for us to implement the NFF mission," said NFF President & CEO
Steve Hatchell. "By inducting Carl, we not only pay tribute to his enormous business accomplishments but to the valuable life lessons he learned as a player at Butler."
Having achieved the pinnacle of success, Allegretti and his wife Tammy have supported numerous charities over the years, including Lurie's Children's Hospital of Chicago, which helped his son Joe beat leukemia; the University of Illinois, which helped turn his son Nick into an NFL Super Bowl Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs; and the Chicago Public High School Athletic Association, providing opportunities to underserved youth in Chicago. His service also includes the boards of World Business Chicago, Civic Committee of the Commercial Club, Imerman Angels and the National Football Foundation. He also started a youth football league in 2004, which has provided more than 10,000 youngsters between kindergarten and eighth grade an opportunity to play the sport he loves.
Allegretti will become the 13
th inductee into the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame, which was launched in 2013 as a powerful vehicle for recognizing the country's most influential individuals who have ascended to the highest levels of success; exhibited the critical leadership qualities that transcend ordinary enterprises; touched the lives of their fellow workers and countrymen; and established the high standards for the young people of our nation to emulate.
Honorees are selected based on their demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and their commitment to following the highest ethical standards in carrying out the mission, goals and initiatives of an organization. Inductees into the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame must embody the same qualities in amateur football that define excellence in American life: hard work, discipline, determination, teamwork, integrity, appreciation of others and the relentless pursuit to improve.
As part of the induction process into the Leadership Hall of Fame, the NFF stages a special dinner to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of each inductee in a city of relevance to their career. Family, friends, peers, supporters and admirers attend the event, and each honoree receives a specially-designed ring from Jostens during the ceremony. Following the event, the NFF permanently displays each inductee's contributions as part of an exhibit at the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
The NFF Leadership Hall of Fame events serve as a centerpiece of the NFF's annual fundraising efforts, providing critical support for the organization's scholar-athlete programs and outreach efforts that emphasize the value of football to society. By creating a powerful fundraising opportunity, the NFF Leadership Hall of Fame allows those who have reached the pinnacle of success today to help the NFF strengthen its programs that support those destined for success tomorrow.
