College Soccer News has named Butler senior Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. to its 2022 Men's Preseason All-America Second Team. The organization annually issues a preseason All-America team with the goal in mind of recognizing players who have excelled in the past and are likely to again be difference-makers in 2022.
 
Cabrera, Jr., from Bogota, Colombia, started all 19 matches for Butler in 2021, leading the team in goals (5) and overall points (12). Two of his goals were game-winners, and he was also credited with two assists on the season. He finished the BIG EAST portion of the season fourth in shots (27) and shots per game (2.70), tied for fifth in goals (3), and eighth in points (8), earning a nod to the 2021 All-BIG EAST First Team, his second such honor.
