Le Pallec Posts Top 50 Finish at Nuttycombe Invitational

Butler's Florian Le Pallec posted a Top 50 individual performance against the nation's most competitive field of the 2023 regular season Friday at the Nuttycombe Invitational.
 
Le Pallec finished 47th, crossing the line for the 8k course in a time of 24:06.6. The Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course in Verona, Wis., will also be utilized for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Nov. 10.
 
As a team, the Butler men finished 24th. The field included 23 nationally-ranked teams in the most recent USTFCCCA poll. Butler entered the meet ranked No. 12, coming off their eighth-place performance at the Virginia Invitational Sept. 23 in their most recent outing.
 
Harvard's Graham Blanks won the race in a time of 23:23.4. Northern Arizona, behind Top 10 finishes from Nico Young and Drew Bosley, won the team title with 76 points. NAU was followed by BYU (162), Syracuse (251), Cal Baptist (272), and Texas (286).
 
For Butler, Le Pallec was followed by Matthew Forrester (101st; 24:22.1) and William Zegarski (105th; 24:23.2). Jesse Hamlin made his 2023 season debut after an injury slowed him earlier this fall. He was Butler's seventh finisher, clocking a time of 25:08.4 to place 214th overall.

On the women's side, Wiktoria Klebowska ran to a tenth-place finish in the women's 'B' race, continuing her strong fall leading the Butler effort. Klebowska posted a time of 21:51.1. Abby Olson also posted a Top 20 result, finishing 19th in a time of 22:02.3.
 
Northern Arizona had the top three individual finishers, led by Nikita Moore in a time of 21:24.6. NAU took the team title in the 'B' race with 62 points; Michigan State (66) and Stanford (94) followed. Butler was seventh as a team.
