@ButlerWTennis Finishes Play at the ITA Regionals

The Butler women's tennis program competed in the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Ohio Valley Regionals this past weekend in Knoxville, Tenn. 
 
The Bulldogs competed in multiple singles and doubles matches throughout the weekend. Norah Balthazor won her first match in the Round of 128 singles before falling to Valeria Ray from Vanderbilt in the Round of 64. No. 9 Boesing, Chase Metcalf, Jordan Schildcrout, Lauren Cook, Elle Martin, Emma Beavin, and Katie Beavin played in an additional Round of 128 singles matches on Saturday. 

Freshmen Cook and Martin had strong performances in the singles play over the weekend. Cook and Martin won their first matches in the Round of 32 B flight singles play, but ended main round play in the Round of 16. The two went on to compete in the additional singles matches on Saturday, where Cook beat Madison Hill from Eastern Kentucky, 6-1, 3-6, 11-9 and Martin defeated Jacey Wilson 6-1, 6-1. 

In addition, Emma Beavin beat Mariia Triska from Eastern Kentucky, 6-1, 6-0 and Schildcrout defeated Yu-Hua Cheng from Austin Peay, 6-3, 6-3 in Saturday's extra singles matches. 
 
The Bulldog's final fall event will take place in East Lansing, Mich., where they will compete in the Michigan State Invitational on Nov. 3 – Nov. 5.
