Butler closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 96-70 win over Saginaw Valley State Friday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Freshman Finley Bizjack led five Bulldogs in double figures with a career-high 17 points.
 
With the victory, Butler improves to 9-2 as the team enters BIG EAST play Tuesday night.
 
 
HOW IT TRANSPIRED:

• The Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-2 lead (at the 15:03 mark of the first half) and never looked back.
• Butler led 47-29 at halftime and the lead would grow to as many as 31 in the second half.

 
OF NOTE:

• Butler now has won six games in a row.
• Butler has scored at least 80 points in eight of its 11 games to start the season; the Bulldogs only hit the 80-point mark six times total a season ago.
• The Bulldogs hit a season-high 15 three-pointers, going 15-for-32 from behind the arc. Eight different Bulldogs hit at least one.
• Butler had a 50-12 advantage in bench points.
• The Bulldogs had 25 assists on 35 made field goals.
• Bizjack's career night included a 3-for-6 performance from three-point range and six free throws. He added four assists.
• DJ Davis scored 12 points on four three-pointers.
• Pierre Brooks II scored 15 points in 20 minutes of action. He has scored in double figures in every game this season.
• Landon Moore scored 10 points and added five assists.
• Jahmyl Telfort scored 11 points and matched Moore for the team-high with five assists. Telfort made four of his five attempts from the field, including all three of his shots from behind the arc.
• Connor Turnbull had seven points, a career-high seven rebounds and three blocks.
• Augusto Cassiá, who has missed the early portion of the season due to a muscle strain in his leg, made his Butler debut. He had three points and four rebounds in 14 minutes of action.
• Jalen Thomas had a game-high eight rebounds for the Bulldogs; he added three blocks.
• Butler shot 47 percent from the field.
• Bizjack becomes the tenth different Bulldog to hit double figures in a game this season. Tonight was the sixth game this season with five or more Bulldogs scoring in double figures.  
• The Bulldogs went 11-for-12 from the free throw line. Butler's 77.7-percent free throw percentage entering the game was 15^th nationally.
• Butler is 77-2 over its last 79 non-conference home games; Butler has won 15 straight non-conference home games.
• Freddie McIntosh led Saginaw Valley State with 22 points.
• The Cardinals shot 46 percent from the field.
