Butler fell to Purdue by a score of 4-1 Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind.
 
The host Boilermakers started play by taking the doubles point.
 
Freshman Chase Metcalf got the Bulldogs on the board with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles. She defeated Carmen Gallardo Guevara by a score of 7-6, 6-3.
 
Purdue (9-1) won matches on courts 2, 4 and 5 to secure the match. Butler's Natalie Boesing (at No. 1) and Emma Beavin (at No. 6) had won first sets on their respective courts before the match was halted due to clinching.
 
The Bulldogs return to action Friday, making the short trip to Muncie for a match-up with Ball State. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
