The Bulldogs went on the road and picked up a 13-8 win over Lindenwood Saturday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.

The victory levels the Bulldogs' record at 2-2 on the young season. Lindenwood, a member of the ASUN, is now 3-4.

The third period proved to be the decisive point in the contest as the Bulldogs out-scored the home team by a 5-1 margin over the 15 minutes. That output gave the Bulldogs a 12-5 advantage leading into the final stanza, and Butler was able to keep the home team at bay for the final result.

The Bulldogs had an efficient afternoon, control play by claiming an 18-7 edge in draw controls. Butler was successful on 18 of their 20 clear attempts. The Bulldogs had a slight 27-23 advantage in shots, but 21 of the Bulldogs' 27 shots were on goal.

Campbell Connors and her three goals.
Kayleigh Colleary,
Emmie Ridgeway, and
Leah Rubino each had two tallies. Colleary added two assists. Rubino also led the team with three groundballs.

Butler led 7-4 at halftime behind two first-half goals from both Ridgeway and Rubino. The Bulldogs never trailed in the opening 30 minutes. A Lindenwood goal by Elisabeth Ralph knotted the score at 4-4 Â with 8:59 remaining in the second period before the Bulldogs closed the half by scoring the final three goals. That set the Bulldogs up to take control of the game in the third period.

The Bulldogs return to action Sunday, March 19, matching up with Winthop in a neutral site contest that will be played in Harrogate, Tenn.
