The women's tennis team defeated Marquette 4-3 on Saturday. The Bulldogs are now 4-2 in conference play and 10-11 overall.
Doubles play saw the Golden Eagles take courts one and two to clinch the point and early lead.
Norah Balthazor and
Jordan Schildcrout shined for Butler taking the third court 6-3.
Butler closed out the match by winning four of the six singles matches. Balthazor carried over her momentum from doubles, taking the No. 4 singles in straight sets.
Natalie Boesing and
Emma Beavin both won dominant first sets and clinched their points with close second set victories at the No. 1 and No. 6.
Delaney Schurhamer earned the crucial fourth point for Butler's win at the No. 2 spot. Schurhamer fell in the first set 0-6 but fought back by winning the next two sets 6-4 and 6-3.
The Bulldogs are in action again tomorrow for their regular season finale against Xavier. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
