Pierre Brooks II, who spent the last two seasons at Michigan State after being ranked in the Top 75 nationally among the Class of 2021, has signed a financial aid agreement and will join the Butler program.
Â
Brooks will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at Butler, beginning with the 2022-23 season.
Â
"Pierre has been part of winning programs at every level, and that will be impactful in our locker room," said Butler coach Thad Matta. "He brings good size to our backcourt and can score in a variety of ways. Pierre has the potential to be very productive in the BIG EAST and our staff is excited to help him reach that potential."
Â
Brooks saw action in 30 games as a sophomore for Michigan State, making five starts. He ranked seventh among the Spartans in both scoring and minutes played as MSU won 21 games and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. He also had nine rebounds against Alabama as part of that same event in November. Brooks appeared in 25 games as a freshman for Michigan State during the 2021-22 campaign. Â
