The women's tennis team dropped their home match with UConn on Saturday 5-2. Butler now holds a 9-11 record and are 3-2 in BIG EAST play.
The Bulldogs fell short in doubles play as UConn took sets at the second and third courts. The top duo of
Natalie Boesing and
Chase Metcalf held a slim 5-4 lead before going unfinished.
UConn earned points in four of the six singles matches to close out the win. Butler's Metcalf and
Katie Beavin were bright spots for Butler. Metcalf was dominant at the No. 3 defeating her opponent in straight sets. Beavin closed out a tight match at the No. 5 with a third set tiebreaker for the team's second point.
Butler concludes the regular season next weekend when they host two conference meetings with Marquette on Saturday and Xavier on Sunday.
