Butler Announces Two More Opponents as Part of 2023-24 Non-Conference Schedule

| By:

Butler's 2023-24 men's basketball schedule continues to take shape with the announcement of two more non-conference opponents coming to Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs will host Southeast Missouri State Friday, Nov. 10 before welcoming East Tennessee State Monday, Nov. 13.

SEMO went 19-17 a season ago while winning the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament to earn an NCAA berth. ETSU, which added Butler transfer DJ Hughes during the offseason, competes in the Southern Conference.

The game times and television assignments will be announced at a later date. Butler has never met SEMO nor ETSU as men's basketball opponents in program history.

Butler will open the regular season Monday, Nov. 6, hosting Eastern Michigan in a game that was recently announced. Two home exhibitions will usher in the regular season.

Non-conference schedule highlights include the 2023 ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, home games against California and Texas Tech (as part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle), and a road game at Michigan State as part of the Gavitt Tip-Off Games.

Additional non-conference games will be announced in the coming weeks.

Thad Matta returned to his alma mater to lead the Butler basketball program in April of 2022. His 2023-24 roster will feature 10 newcomers, including five transfers who averaged double figures last season for their previous team.

Season tickets for the 2023-24 Butler Basketball season are on sale now. The home schedule will feature an increase to 19 games this season, highlighted by all 10 BIG EAST rivals visiting Hinkle. The home schedule will begin with an exhibition game on Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 27-29).
