Abby Herman is the latest addition to the Butler volleyball program, joining head coach Kyle Shondell's roster for the 2023 season.
 
The 5'-7" libero graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in McCordsville, Indiana, helping to lead her team to an overall record of 85-30 and finishing 18-10 in conference competition.
 
"Abby is as vocal and energized as they come," stated Shondell. "She will do wonders in helping us create a hard-nosed, high-effort brand at Butler."
 
At Mt. Vernon, Herman was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter, serving as captain her senior season. She earned All-Conference honors and was twice named her team's defensive MVP. Over her four-year career, she amassed 1202 digs, once totaling 30 in a single match. 
 
Herman was a two-time Academic All-Conference and two-time AAU Academic All-America honoree. She played club for Rev Volleyball Academy which produced a second-place finish at the 2022 AAU National Tournament.
