The Butler women's tennis team clinched their first win of the spring season over Youngstown State today. The Bulldogs defeated the Penguins 4-3 in a strong win at YSU.
In doubles play,
Jordan Schildcrout and
Delaney Schurhamer beat Elinor Beazley and Line Greyling in a close 6-4 finish.
In singles play, the Bulldogs won four of their six matches of the day against the Penguins.
Norah Balthazor pushed her match against Lili Minich to three sets. Balthazor ultimately defeating Minich 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. In addition,
Natalie Boesing beat Eliska Masarikova in a clean 6-1, 6-1 finish.
Senior
Delaney Schurhamer, who finished the fall season 4-1 overall in singles matches, defeated Lorena Cedeno 6-2, 6-1.
The Bulldogs will stay in Youngstown, Ohio where they will take on Georgetown tomorrow afternoon.
